The European Size Unit (ESU) is equal to the value of the standard gross margin of 1,200 euros (18,768 kroons).
Standard gross margin is the difference of the holding’s output and the value of specific costs, calculated on the basis of crop area, number of livestock and SGM coefficients.
According to the methodology of the European Union Statistical Office the standard gross margin 2003 is recalculated by using the standard gross margin coefficients 2000.
